First rose production with cooling system
In an area of our Avalanche nursery (23000 M2) we use a cooling system. We use the cooling system during hot summer days to cool down the day and night temperature. Hot days and nights are not good for the headsize of the flower, and the vase life of the rose. With this cooling system we can also guarantee an excellent quality during warm periods, so year round. With a cooling system inside the greenhouse it is possible to get the temperature down without opening the windows. The micro climate during the summer days is much better , the humidity is not to low and there is more than enough

Environment friendly cooling system
Through the cooling system runs cold (11 degrees) water. We get the water from 10 wells, which are 30 meters deep. The cold water runs through the warm greenhouse and can reach a temperature of 23 degrees (depends on the temperature in the greenhouse), finally we pump the warm water back in 10 other wells.

The water we used in the cooling system in the summer time is now 20 degrees on a dept of 30 meters. When the outside temperature is 7 degrees or less, we pump the water back up from 10 other wells, and lead it through a cooling tower. When the water in the cooling towers reacheds a temperature 9 degrees or less, we pump the water back in the other 10 sources. So we can use the cold water next summer.
